Terms of service

These terms apply to your use of shelfsignal.io and the ShelfSignal services. By using them you agree to these terms. If you use them for a business, you agree on its behalf.

• Store check: the tool on our website that reads a store's public pages and scores how well AI shopping assistants can read them.
• Reporting service: weekly reports and dashboards for client brands, built from data the brand authorizes, plus catalog clean-up work where agreed. Scope, price, and duration are set in a written proposal, order, or invoice (an "Order"). If an Order conflicts with these terms, the Order wins.

3. The store check

• Check only websites you own or are allowed to assess. Don't run checks in bulk or automate them without our agreement.
• The score measures readiness, not ranking. No one outside the AI companies knows exactly how each assistant chooses products, and we don't promise that any assistant will recommend yours.

4. Your authorizations

• When you connect Amazon or Shopify, you confirm you have the right to grant that access.
• You can revoke access at any time. Reports that depend on it stop updating.
• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us, such as product lists and your change log.

5. Fees and payment

Fees are as stated in the Order and are invoiced directly. Unless the Order says otherwise, invoices are due within 14 days. We may pause the service if an invoice is more than 30 days overdue, after telling you in writing.

6. Your data

• You own your data.
• You give us permission to use it only to provide the services to you, as described in our privacy policy.
• We keep it confidential and don't share it with other clients.
• Data from Amazon and Shopify is also handled under those platforms' developer terms and policies.

7. Recommendations and results

Our reports contain analysis and suggestions, and you decide which changes to make. Figures such as estimated lost sales and before/after comparisons are informed estimates, not guarantees. We don't guarantee any change in sales or rankings.

8. Third-party platforms

Amazon, Shopify, AI assistants, and our service providers are independent third parties. ShelfSignal is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Changes to their products, data, or policies may affect what we can provide.

9. Our work

We keep all rights in our software, methods, and report formats. You may use the reports and dashboards we deliver for your own business.

10. Disclaimers

The store check is provided as is. Beyond what an Order expressly promises, the services are provided without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, neither party is liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

12. Ending the service

Either party may end the reporting service as set out in the Order, or with 30 days' written notice if the Order is silent. When it ends, we revoke our access tokens and delete your data as described in our privacy policy.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, and disputes go to the courts there.

14. Changes

We may update these terms, and the date at the top shows the latest version. Changes that materially affect active clients are emailed to them 30 days before they apply.
